Eight compositions of 48 parts, distributed and reassembled in collaboration with radio stations around the globe, to create gatherings of radiophonic experience. radioPHØNIX is a sound installation event series by Timo Kreuser & PHØNIX16 that engages in phenomena of radiophonic practice.

radioPHØNIX connects a network of radio stations around the world, each broadcasting on their stereo frequency two isolated parts of a prerecorded vocal and electronic piece. An improvised live remix turns these signals into a fleeting multi-channel sound installation. Through interferences, dropouts and delays the technology expresses itself. Only having a fraction of the information at their command, the broadcasters leave their hegemonic position as information centre. The receiver is the one who defines the aural message.

The individual compositions are 8 live electronic meditations on 8 radiophonic paradoxes, and 8 relevant pioneers of electronic music and radiophonic works:
